The first meeting of the Goat Herd GTO Club of Oregon was held in April 1984 at John Link Pontiac in Oregon City. The Goat Herd was a dream brought to life by three very enthusiastic GTO owners, Duane Benting, Marc Neary, and Joe Meshishnek. There were 18 members and prospective members in attendance.
We strive to create a vibrant community that fosters connections and personal growth. The primary purpose of the club was to restore, preserve, and enjoy the legendary GTO. The Goat Herd is now open to GTO, LeMans, Tempest and all other Pontiac owners, along with anyone having an interest in owning a Pontiac. From our humble beginnings the Goat Herd has had hundreds of members over the years, virtually world wide.
The Herd is a member of the GTO Association of America (GTOAA) and was the first club to achieve 100% member participation in the GTOAA. The Goat Herd has won the Chapter of the Year in the GTOAA an unprecedented three times! The Goat Herd was the original sponsor of the GTOAA Northwest Regional Meet known as TIGER RUN. Participants in the event came from several states and provinces of Canada.
We love our members and prospective members, so feel free to visit during one of our upcoming meetings. See our Meeting Info website tab.
